Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Though a lot of the drinking was done this weekend with many attending St. Patrick’s Day bar crawls here is one good cocktail recipe that you all can try.
A Fun Cocktail Recipe to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
Old Thyme Sour
A whiskey sour is a great cocktail and this Old Thyme Sour is sure to be an even better version. Jameson is a must have if you are celebrating the holiday and sure enough this drink even has St. Germain. Not a coincidence at all.
2 ounces Jameson Select Reserve Irish Whiskey
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce St. Germain
1/2 ounce cinnamon -thyme simple syrup
Sprinkle of Angostura bitters
Egg White
1/4 ounce Green Chartreuse
5 sprigs of thyme
Lemon zest garnish
Get your glasses and get ready to prepare this.
1. Place 2 sprigs of thyme and chartreuse into a glass; stir to coat the thyme
2. Fill shaker with 2 sprigs of thyme, liquor, lemon juice, syrup, bitters and egg white
3. Dry shake first, then add ice and shake again.
4. Pour contents into glass and light the mixture on fire for a few seconds
5. Double strain the content from the mixer into the glass to put out the fire
6. Add lemon zest and fill with fresh ice
7. Garnish with lemon + leftover thyme
