Have you ever been to or heard of a Lingerie Shower? Me either until my girl friend had one leading up to her wedding. I guess that also shows that I’m a little removed from the Wedding Industry. Any who…instead of having her bachelorette shower the last day before her wedding she had a lingerie shower. I love this idea. I think it is such a chic way for you get together with your girlfriends and fawn over the sexy little details before you become a married woman. Initially you have the Bridal Shower and that is where you often get lingerie but lets not forget who is usually there our parents + grandmothers…embarrassing much? Just a little bit. I mean at the end of the day most of our moms and grandmothers had bridal showers but I can’t say that they were as racy as they can be in current times. I’m totally crushing on the Lingerie Shower idea and when I get married there will surely be a separate shower just for that.
If it is important to have a lot of your bridal party including little ones at your bridal shower a separate shower for the unmentionables is a great way to keep it PG for the little eyes. It can also be uncomfortable to get lingerie at a bridal shower because it seems like the minute you pull it out all your parents/grandparents can envision is you in it doing things with your man. A lingerie shower is a nice way to be unfiltered and far from embarrassed. You’re girls know you and you have probably shared plenty of sexy stories with them so why not have one last lace-filled, see-through day with them before you share less as a married woman.
